Rudy Giuliani Won’t Let the Ukraine Mess Stop Him From Launching a Podcast – News

Cigar bars are strange places to hang out. It’s dark, everyone’s talking about whiskey and Mad Men, and the president’s personal lawyer is shouting about launching a podcast
Page Six reports that Rudy Giuliani was spotted in the Grand Havana Room in Midtown, which sounds like a late-’90s Mad Libs and is probably a good indication of what to expect from the possible impeachment proceedings to come
The tabloid pointed out that the former New York City mayor is a regular at the members-only spot and serves on its board, which is likely tasked with maintaining “the year-round company of those who share this and other lifestyle interests,” per the club’s site
The tip said that Giuliani was joyously holding court even as momentum builds for impeachment of his boss, thanks to the Ukrainian misadventure in which Giuliani played a major part

“He was shouting it to the world.” Not that this particular dynamic is new, but it was a curious time for Giuliani to be in such good spirits
Vanessa Grigoriadis reported for Vanity Fair on Thursday that Donald Trump’s call to Volodymyr Zelensky was motivated by Giuliani’s failure to dig up dirt on Joe Biden
“Rudy kept running around talking to everyone, but he couldn’t get to first base on the Ukraine-Biden info,” a source told V
F. Meanwhile, Barb McQuade, a former U.S. attorney in Michigan, told V.F.’s Chris Smith, “you could charge Giuliani with a crime if he has conspired with the president to extort the Ukrainians
Giuliani would be the president’s agent in this abuse of power.” Giuliani did not respond to request for comment on either V
F. story. Name a decade, name a public crisis, Giuliani won’t be deterred. Whatever post-9/11 affection he accumulated in New York has dwindled by the year
Perhaps there’s nothing on that front left to lose, and, barring legal intervention, we’ll be seeing him at cigar bars and Yankees games forever more
