Hypnotherapy Demonstration: Stop Smoking Session


Let’s do a timeout before we start.
Normally when we do a stop smoking problem,
there’s a bunch of other things that we
will do.
I want to try and restrain it just to the
Mind Bending Language to show you that you
can do anything with anything else.
It will mean that we’ll have to do a few
extra loops along the way, but hey, why not?
Why not?
So you’re a smoker?
Yes.
How long have you been a smoker?
Twenty five years.
Okay that’s fine.
Give me an example, when and where do you
smoke?
I hide and smoke at home.
You hide, and you smoke at home.
Wow!
Out of curiosity, how come you hide?
I don’t like that I smoke.
You don’t like that you smoke.
So how come you do?
I don’t know.
So what happens, you’re walking around in
your normal day… give me an example of the
last time you smoked.
This morning.
So you woke up and decided I have to smoke.
No.
Oh great, so what did happen?
I don’t know I had breakfast and then I
decided, well, I should smoke now because
I might want to later so I should smoke now.
Okay.
So just before you were thinking, I should
smoke now, how were you feeling?
I don’t know.
You don’t know do you?
You really don’t know.
This, by the way, is very common for a compulsion
because the unconscious mind kind of takes
over a little bit.
How would you like to be different?
I’d like not to smoke.
You would like not to smoke.
So how would you be as a person if you weren’t
smoking?
The same, just not smoking.
And how do you feel about smoking now?
Like it’s bad.
Like it’s bad.
So what’s so bad about you that goes beyond
the idea of smoking?
I don’t know.
Just really consider it.
Really think about it.
What’s not bad about you that goes beyond
the idea of smoking?
There you go.
What’s happening now?
I’m thinking about what you said.
You are thinking about what I said aren’t
you?
How are you feeling whilst you’re doing
that?
Good.
Yeah?
How do you know when you want a cigarette?
I mean let’s put it this way.
How do you know right now that you’re not
just cured, done, finished?
You could go home right now and never smoke
again.
Yes, likely?
Yes.
You think it’s likely?
Mm…hmm.
Great.
How would you know?
How would you know for sure?
I wouldn’t want to smoke.
When?
Right now?
Ever.
How are you doing?
Good.
Rocking and rolling?
Mm…hmm.
Do you see a different person sitting here
than before?
I’d like you to pick a volunteer and do
an instant induction in front of everyone.
Would you?
Really?
Yeah.
Okay.
Would you like a cigarette to help you out?
No.

Yes.
You’re good.

You realize you’ve done a pretty big thing
for yourself here right, in terms of the smoking?
I think so.
And also realize that we haven’t directly
addressed things like drinking and smoking
and being bored and smoking, and probably
some other associations you have like that.
Because you were kind enough to come up here
and allow me to demonstrate something, I’d
like for you to know something.
That you have an unconscious mind that did
all of this for you.
In the same way as you discovered a different
way of being a better you when under pressure,
better than smoking.
There you go.
It’s happening already isn’t it?
I wonder if those eyes will close all the
way, to allow it to complete, rooting out
everything.
There you go.
Rooting out every element that’s it, every
association, every connection, every need
and every desire so that you can learn fully
and completely that as a non-smoker you are
so much more.
There you go.
And everything you used to think smoking gave
you, is a tiny little insect of a thing compared
to the amazing things you’re going to experience
now instead.
You know what I mean by that don’t you?
And I really don’t know how long this process
will take to complete, nor will you, because
20 years of smoking may require some time
to go through and process fully.
But then again, you manage with the pressure
which was pretty intense.
You managed that pretty quickly, so I guess
there’s some part of you that knows something
about change right?
Yes.
Just rest there for a while and notice it
happening.
You don’t need to do anything other than
wait for your eyes to open.
That’ll be your signal that it’s done.
There’s really no hurry.
I will talk elsewhere but it’s of no importance
what I’m saying.
There’s more of an importance that you continue
and complete the process you’re in right
now.

Time is of no meaning as of this point.

So, if you want to take someone out for dinner
tonight or have social drinks in the bar downstairs
and stuff like that…
Mm…hmm.
… you’d sit there, what kind of drink

Probably a Coke.

caused you to smoke in the past?
Yeah, just being in a bar.

So there is a bar on this ship right?
Yes.

And they sell Coke I hear.
And there are people in this room that are
sure.
Actually it’s going to be funny if suddenly
160 people descend on the bar.
It’s happened before right.
So what do you think will happen if you’re
there with some of these folks, you’re in
the bar having a Coke?
Nothing.
Really?

I guess there’s one way we’ll really know
