How to Create Realistic Smoke Effect in Photoshop – Dramatic Portrait Scene with Smoke

Hello everyone welcome back to my another adopt Photoshop tutorial today
I am going to show you this how to create a cinematic and realistic smoke effect in Photoshop, so let’s get started
Choose the perfect dark background image is very easy to make smoke
And you can see smoke visible head over to file menu and select open menu
Yeah, I got the dark picture this one has looked some little smoky, but we are going to create make so much better than this
Select the move tool or press V
Is that shortcut for move tool now head over to background layer right click on it and duplicate this layer
Rename the duplicated one is glow if you mention the name for every layer. It’ll help you to find the proper layer
Head up to filter select the blur option and click on the Gaussian blur
Make the radius amount 15 pixels
then press hit OK
Now we have to change the blending mode change that to soft light
Soft light will reduce gray in the picture if you want adjust the opacity below 90%
Now you can see the difference between the both layers now
We need some more dark edges to make some dramatic color look for our images
Create a new layer. I am going to rename it from yet
Now go to edit menu and select the fill option in this list select the contents to 50% gray

Keep everything as default
then press ok
This gray color I choose and for make some more fog than I want then head up to filter select lens correction
Head over to custom setting look down there s affirm yet set to -100 and adjusts a midpoint to plus 25
Then press hit, okay
Now change the blending mode to hard light
hard light
multiplies our screens the colors
Depending on the blend color the effect is similar to shining a harsh spotlight on the image if the blend color light sources lighter than
50% gray the image is lightened as if it were screened see the blending mode differences in this picture now
We got glowing and shining applied in this image finally. We can or main subject creating smoking applying through this image
Head down and create new layer rename it to smoke
Head up to filter choose the render option and click on the clouds in some other tutorial. I’ll explain about clouds
It’s very huge and nice process to create
I’m going to make this smoke layer to smart object right click on the layer and select the convert to smart object
This will allow us to scale the image down and back up without affecting the quality now change the blending mode to screen
Yeah, I got it now. You can see clouds merge in our image still didn’t finished the screen blend mode inverts both layers
Multiplies them and then inverts that result in a few minutes
You’ll see the result of our realistic smoke effect press ctrl T to use transform tool transform
Freely the free transform command lets you apply
Transformations rotate back to in one continuous operation you can also apply a warp
transformation instead of choosing different commands you simply hold down a key on your keyboard to switch between
Transformation types now you can see our transform tool active now follow my leads look head up and select the chain-link
in-between of width and height now increase the size above 700 pixels
Now we got more cool look smoke, but need make some more work here decrease the opacity if you want now
This is final touch for smoke effect select the vignette layer and duplicate it with the help of right-click menu
Drag and drop the layer above the smoke layer now change the blend mode to overlay
The other aspects of overlay mode are that it preserves the highlights and shadows of the base color and actually
Blends the colors of the two layers together this experiment helped me to make more sense out of it today
I shown you more best trick and define the others
